Use Your Shopify Product Videos for Facebook and Instagram Ads

Manage your Product videos effortlessly in Meta Commerce Manager using Flexify feeds

Using product videos in your marketing can really help people notice your brand more on Facebook and Instagram. Understanding the value of video content, we have enhanced our Flexify feeds, granting Shopify store owners increased flexibility and control in the management and presentation of product videos within Meta Commerce Manager.

Making Video Stuff Easier with Flexify #

We've made adding Shopify product videos to your Flexify feeds simpler and more flexible. This means your Facebook catalog will look awesome, and your ads on Meta will do even better.

1. Default Integration #

Now, every video linked to a Shopify product page (provided directly to the page or with the metafields 'featured_media' and 'media-array') is automatically included in the feed. This ensures that your Facebook product detail pages are rich with visual content without requiring manual input for each video.

2. Custom Videos Made Simple #

For brands that require a more tailored approach, custom videos can be managed in the same way as handling additional images by utilizing the Shopify metafield definitions while applying the Flexify's metafield mapping rules. Provided metafield values should be in one of the following formats:

  • single_line_text_field
  • multi_line_text_field
  • file_reference
  • list.file_reference

3. Variant-Specific Videos
#

Elevate your Facebook product presentations by utilizing the variant metafield 'flexify.video'. This option allows for precise video assignments through comma-separated URLs, making it easier to showcase the right video for the right product variant.

To streamline the process of adding videos to your Flexify feeds, the Shopify Bulk Editor can be used:

Moreover, videos that are included in the feed will now be visible on the Flexify product detail page.

Meta's Requirements for Video Data #

It's important to adhere to Meta's guidelines when uploading videos:

  • Direct links to download video files are required, excluding links to video players like YouTube.
  • The maximum video file size is 200 MB, with a wide range of supported formats, ensuring compatibility and ease of upload.

Exclusive to Stand-alone Mode #

Currently, this functionality is exclusive to our Stand-alone mode. We are actively exploring how Meta recognizes videos from a supplementary feed, especially with the presence of the video attribute within the feed.
