The text layer in Flexify's image editor lets you overlay dynamic product information — like the product title, price, or variant options — on your feed images. In this article you'll learn two ways to build a text layer: picking variables from the dropdown, and letting Shopify's Sidekick AI design one for you.
Let Sidekick design your text layer #
Sidekick is Shopify's built-in AI assistant, and the Sidekick integration in Flexify is currently in beta. Because Sidekick doesn't know Flexify's template syntax out of the box, we provide a ready-made prompt that teaches it everything it needs to know.
- Below the text layer, copy the prepared Sidekick prompt using the Copy AI Instructions button.
- Open Sidekick in your Shopify admin and paste the prompt. Sidekick now knows the template syntax used in Flexify's text fields.
- Describe the text layer you want. For example:
Create a title and make it bold. Add a subtitle at 50% of the title's size that lists all the options of the product.
- Copy Sidekick's answer, switch to the code view of the text layer in Flexify, and replace the current content with it.
That's it — the text layer now lists all product options automatically, even for products with more options than the one you previewed.
Iterate on the design #
Since Sidekick remembers the conversation, you can keep refining the result. Just ask for the change you want:
Add a background color to the subtitle and make it light purple.
Copy the updated snippet, paste it into the code view again, and the change appears in your image template. Repeat until you're happy with the design.
This is how Sidekick helps you get the most out of Flexify's text layer — describe what you want in plain language, and let the AI handle the template syntax.
